Sewing, knitting, and embroidery have never been activities that I thought I could do. I have friends who do all of these things and when I would see them working on projects I always though it would be way too difficult for me. And yet I love the textures and the colors and the warmth of these fiber arts and have always longed to create something with these materials. I follow a former instructor and supervisor of mine on social media and she started making these things she called embroidery sketches. This inspired me to create my own "sketches." It's just a sketch, it doesn't have to be perfect. Here is my process of creating my very first embroidery sketch.
It was surprisingly soothing
